As the Principal of DIET Tinsukia, I am honoured to lead this esteemed institution, which has been a beacon of educational excellence in the region. The DIETs have a rich history in India, dating back to 1986, when the National Policy on Education (NPE) envisioned and emphasized the need for a district-level institution to provide pre-service and in-service training to teachers.
Over the years, DIETs have played a crucial role in strengthening the educational infrastructure in the country. With the advent of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the significance of DIETs has increased manifold. The NEP 2020 envisions a transformative education system that is inclusive, equitable, and empowering. The five pillars of the NEP 2020 – Accessibility, Equity, Quality, Affordability, and Accountability – provide a comprehensive framework for reforming the education system. As a DIET, we are dedicated towards playing a pivotal role in operationalizing these pillars in our district.
Tinsukia, being a multilingual district, presents a unique challenge and opportunity. Our district is home to diverse linguistic and cultural groups, and it is essential that we promote and celebrate this diversity. The NEP 2020 emphasizes the importance of promoting multilingualism and mother tongue education, and we are committed to implementing these recommendations in our district.
DIET Tinsukia has been striving towards providing high-quality training and support to teachers, school leaders, and other education stakeholders. We ardently believe in working collaboratively with all stakeholders to create a transformative education system that empowers every child in Tinsukia to reach their full potential.
As the Principal of DIET Tinsukia, I am committed to leading this institution with vision, integrity, and a deep commitment to the values of inclusivity, equity, and excellence. Thereby creating an ecosystem which conducive to holistic learning and quality education.
